Another One Bites the Dust!
Looks like Linda Ronstadt did a Whoopi Goldberg and got herself fired from the Aladdin hotel here in Fabulous Las Vegas. Already I have seen liberal whining on this, including one yahoo who claimed that the GOPer that owns the Aladdin is a poor businessman. He further claimed that this was just an excuse to can Ronstadt. Of course, he doesn't know whether the owners of the bankrupt casino are Republicans, so I suppose he back to the Karl Marx playbook, you remember that one, corporations are bad. This fellow thinks that any business or corporation had to be owned and run by a Republican or Conservative. Go figure.
Seems many people had been leaving Ronstadt's show early, demanding their money back, simply because the show sucked. With the prices charged for these shows here in Vegas, who can blame them. Ronstadt had been panned in local reviews.
Now the media, being liberal and all, picked up on her anti-Bush tirade as the reason for her firing. Well, that was only part of it. Ronstadt also trashed Las Vegas, "She said Vegas isn't the best place to perform anyway," Squyres said. Ronstadt also trashed the Aladdin management. You Linda, you trash the boss, you get your ass canned.
Linda also had trouble with 'Blue Bayou', according to the Las Vegas Sun. "She stumbled over the lyrics, seemed to gasp for breath at one point and ended the song in Spanish, screaming the words rather than singing them." Also the Sun printed, "Her performance was uninspired and generally flat. She lacked stage presence, doing little more than sleepwalk from song to song."
So Linda got fired, and the only person she has to blame for it is Linda Ronstadt.
